As we are approaching the SB20 Asia-Pacific Championship that would take place on January 16-18 2014, it is time to review the Rig Tuning advices from Colin Simonds' training that he conducted in March 2013.

20^th Singapore Straits Regatta To Play Host To Inaugural SB20 Asia Pacific Championships

The SB20 fleet will be racing for more than just the Singapore Straits Regatta medals in January 2014. Organisers are elated to confirm that the event will also see the SB20 fleet contesting for the Asia Pacific Champion title.

The regatta within a regatta will see some of the regions best SB20 and keelboat sailors vie for honours over 3 days – 16^th, 17^th and 18^th January 2014. Challenging conditions await the teams as they will be racing off the southern stretch of east coast beach in the seasonal northeast monsoon winds. The offshore breeze and short chops would ensure that the fleet is well tested.

Singapore’s local SB20 fleet is expected to be out in full force, and with the Singapore Sailing Federation’s fleet of 8 boats joining in the fray, it is expected that the entries will surpass the 20-boat entry at the recent Western Circuit Sailing Regatta held at Raffles Marina in August.

As in 2013, the Federation will be putting up its fleet of boats for charter at  subsidised rates for participating teams without a boat. Interested teams are invited to send enquiries to info@singaporesailing.org.sg

Charter rates:

• 320 SGD for 3 days of racing + 1 practice day
• 500 SGD security deposit
